Do I need a primer? – In most cases the answer is no when painting onto virgin surfaces.


 What preparation is required? – Ensure the substrate to be painted is clean and dust free. Always lightly key all surfaces before painting to give the first coat a good bond with the substrate.


 Can I paint woodwork in the chalky matt? – Yes! Our Chalky Matt Emulsion is a fantastic alternative to chalk paints for wooden furniture and can also be used on internal doors and skirting boards. The makeup of the emulsion means there is no need to wax after application.


 Can I paint the walls in interior eggshell? – Yes, Our Interior Eggshell has a 10% sheen which is technically still classed as matt. In areas of high use and wear Interior eggshell can be a good option for walls.


 What should I use for a kitchen? – We would recommend our Interior Eggshell product for kitchens; however, many customers like to use our Exterior Eggshell which has a 20% sheen and outstanding durability.


 Can I paint PVC windows? – Yes!! By simply applying one coat of our Multi Surface Primer, followed by two coats of our Exterior Eggshell.


 What can I use for masonry? – Our Exterior Eggshell is great for Masonry substrates


 Can I paint metal? -  Yes!! By simply applying one coat of our Multi Surface Primer, followed by two coats of our Exterior Eggshell.


 Can I paint furniture? - Yes! Our Interior Eggshell is a fantastic product for wooden furniture and can also be used on internal doors and skirting boards etc…. Chalky Interior Matt and Exterior Eggshell can also be used on furniture.


 How many coats will I need? – If preparation is carried out correctly all M&L paints will cover in 2 coats.


 What colours work with other colours? – The subtle tones and strong depth within our colour palette means all colours can work well alongside each other. We offer free colour consultancy over the telephone, so please feel free to call us.


 What sizes do you do? – 1Ltr, 2.5ltr & 5ltr in all 3 finishes. Sample pots are available in Chalky Matt Emulsion.


 Can I have an AM delivery? – Yes. There is an extra charge for this. Please call us for costings.


 Can I have a Saturday delivery? - Yes. There is an extra charge for this. Please call us for costings.


 How long will your paint last? - If preparation and application are carried out correctly all M&L paints have exceptional durability and longevity. Dependent upon use and weather conditions we would expect your paint to last for many years. (we have had customers who have only needed to repaint their conservatory after 20years!!!!)


 Are there any guarantees? – We do not offer guarantees as we cannot be responsible for the application of paint and the substrate it is being applied to. We can only offer assurance that our paints are made to the highest standards using the best ingredients available.

How much is delivery? – Standard UK Next Day delivery up to 20KG is £7.50. Sample pot delivery up to 7 sample pots is £3.75.


 If I don’t use a tin can I send it back? – Yes! If the tin has not been opened. The cost of return will be at the customers expense.


 What do I need to do if I am painting wood with knots? – All knots must be suitably blocked with a patent Knotting Solution or Shellac based primer such as Zinsser BIN.
