Receipt of Order Confirmation
You will receive an order receipt confirmation email as soon as you have placed an order. Please keep it in a safe place as we may ask you for information from it in any correspondence. If you do not receive this email please contact customerservice@petersilk.co.uk so that we may investigate and confirm that your order has been placed successfully.

Prices are as set out on the website and include VAT at the current rate. We reserve the right to alter prices at any time. Some prices may have been listed incorrectly either online or on our newsletters - if there happens to be an issue with pricing on an item that you have ordered you will be made aware of this as soon as the problem has been recognised. It may be necessary to change prices either up or down, from time to time, including any alterations to the rate of VAT.  You will be advised of any prices changes within 24 hours of placing your order.

Products or items may be uploaded with incorrect prices, descriptions or details due to human error. If your transaction has an error you will be notified as soon as possible.

Portrayal of products
While every effort has been made to portray items accurately, slight variations may occur. All measurements quoted are approximate and the reproduction of colours is as accurate as photographic and publishing processes will allow. Please note there may be variations in colours dependant on the calibration and settings of individual screens.

Safety regulations
All products comply with appropriate safety and consumer regulations.

The majority of our products are in stock ready for dispatch however we may be awaiting stock of some items. When this is the case the estimated date of availability will be shown in the product description. Please note that stock levels are constantly changing therefore errors may occur, however in such circumstances we will notify you as soon as possible of any delays to your order. If you would like to check stock before placing your order please contact us at customerservice@petersilk.co.uk or telephone 01439 771 500. Unfortunately we cannot accept liability if the product is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances however we will endeavour to keep you informed with all relevant details should such a situation occur.

If your order consists of multiple items and some of the items are out of stock at that time we will contact you to discuss whether you would prefer to receive the goods that are in stock or to wait for all items to be dispatched together.

If you wish to cancel your order you must let us know within 24 hours after placing the order by contacting customerservice@petersilk.co.uk or 01439 771 500. We will then be able to offer you a full refund including the cost of delivery as long as the products have not been dispatched. Upholstered products or Special order products (SOP) cannot be cancelled unless on the day of the order.

Provided that the goods are in stock we aim to dispatch orders within 2 working days and deliver within 3 working days following dispatch.  As soon as your order is dispatched we will send out tracking information to allow you to track the progress of your delivery.  Please note that the time frames set by our delivery companies are not guaranteed and delays may occur - we will however endeavour to keep you informed of your parcel's progress in the event of a delay.  Please ensure that all goods are inspected immediately upon delivery as any damages must be reported within 48 hours of receipt; please see our Faulty/Damaged Goods policy.

International Delivery
Please note that our website does not calculate international shipping costs; this allows our team to source the best possible price for you.  We will contact you shortly after purchase with the best options.  

Discount Codes
Discount codes, both in store and online, cannot be used with any other codes or offers. Each discount cannot be applied to already reduced or sale items. Discount codes DO NOT APPLY to interior design, curtains/blinds, fabric purchases, antique purchases and restoration service, bespoke furniture including footstools and headboards and wedding list products. 

Faulty / Damaged Items
If any of your products have a manufacturing defect or have arrived damaged please contact us on 01439 771 500 or email customerservice@petersilk.co.uk within 48 hours of receipt of the goods. All items are thoroughly checked prior to dispatch therefore it is very important that you let us know as soon as possible if you receive damaged goods as we have only a limited time frame in which to report such occurrences to our couriers.  It may be necessary for us to request photographic evidence of the damage. Please do not dispose of any packaging materials as these may too be required as evidence and it will also be necessary to use the original packaging should you need to return the item.  We will collect and replace the faulty product free of charge, or give you a full refund. If a claim is being made against the courier for a damage that happened in transit, you maybe required to complete a form (sent direct from the courier). If this is the case this will need completing before a refund can be processed.  We will not refund products that have been damaged due to wear and tear. We reserve the right to get a manufacturer's inspection before we offer a refund or exchange to verify an official decision of some complaints.

Newgate Clocks: The movements in all Newgate clocks are guaranteed for 12 months from date of purchase, this does not include damage caused by misuse, tampering or battery leakage. 

Sale items
Items bought at a sale price are bought as seen by the images supplied through our website.  Please note that where items have been reduced in price for stock clearance but have subsequently sold out it may be possible to source another by request, however this may be subject to an increase in price.

Refunds & Exchanges

We hope that you are delighted with your online purchase however if you are not completely satisfied we will be happy to offer a refund or exchange within 14 days of receipt of the goods.

Just follow these simple steps:

  • Please notify us as soon as possible (no later than 7 days after you receive the goods) that you wish to return the item(s). You can do this by telephoning us on 01439 771 500 or emailing customerservice@petersilk.co.uk
  • Ensure that the goods are unused and in a perfect, saleable condition in the original packing supplied by us.
  • We will contact you to arrange for the goods to be returned to us. Please note that we will not cover the cost of the postage and this must be covered by you, the customer. It is vital that the goods are packaged adequately and securely to avoid any damage to the goods that could occur during transit for which we cannot accept responsibility. The selected postage method must be adequate for the goods to be returned safely and to the same standard as the original delivery method. Should you wish for us to arrange for the collection of the goods we will deduct the postage costs from any refund monies.
  • Once we have received and inspected the goods and deemed them to be in the condition that which they were sold, we will dispatch the replacement item or issue a full refund. If the original item qualified for free delivery please note that the true cost of the delivery will be deducted from the refund monies.  Should a replacement item be of a lesser value than the original item, a credit note or refund for the difference will be issued.

Please note that we cannot issue any refund or exchange on bespoke, made to measure or special order items unless they are faulty. You will be made aware of this when the order is placed.

Wallpaper & Paint

If you are wanting to return either wallpaper or paint please contact our customer service team. In most cases these cannot be returned as they are bespoke items, however some suppliers may except a return with a handling charge (usually 20%) a member of our team will check this upon request. 

Loyalty Points
To date we have NOT put any time restrictions on holding your points.

Peter Silk of Helmsley Limited total liability for any claim howsoever shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied by Peter Silk of Helmsley to the customer. shall not be liable for any consequential loss whether this arises from a breach of duty in contract or in any other way, save where such liability is imposed upon Peter Silk by statute. Peter Silk cannot accept any liability for a failure to comply with instructions specifically stated on the Website. Peter Silk does not limit in any way our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct. By law, you also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. Goods are provided to you on approval and legal title to the goods will not pass to you until fourteen [14] days after delivery. Your statutory rights are not affected by this statement.We endeavor to check the accuracy of the information on this site. However, we do not warrant that such information will be error free and the user acknowledges that information, products and services published on this web site may include inaccuracies and typological errors. If the goods do not on receipt by you substantially meet the description on this web site you are entitled to return the goods to us.

Wallpaper Calculator 
Our wallpaper calculator works out an approximate amount required to cover a wall. We recommend that you double check your measurements and amount required with your decorator before purchase. We will not be held responsible if you have any unused wallpaper. In some cases our suppliers may except a return with handling charge (usually 20%) a member of our team will check this upon request.
